This side-hall home is located in Rosemary Beach, a walkable New Urbanist community planned by DPZ. The architecture draws inspiration from the Dutch East Indies, New Orleans, and Charleston, expressed through stucco walls, deep eaves, expansive porches, private courtyard spaces, and balconies supported by custom brackets. Facing a pedestrian path, the arched front entry opens onto a side porch that wraps around the home to a private rear courtyard and pool. A detached carriage house at the back—garage below with a small apartment above—creates privacy and completes the outdoor room.
Inside, the first floor is organized around open living, dining, and kitchen spaces defined by wood beams, large French doors, and statement lighting. The kitchen features floor-to-ceiling custom cabinetry with a discreet butler’s pantry tucked behind. A dramatic stair with thick wood plank treads and a simple iron handrail offers views upward through the home. On the second floor, a wood balcony with paired columns and custom brackets overlooks the path, extending from the primary suite. The third floor is nestled within the roof dormer, creating a cozy retreat for kids with bunks, games, soft seating, and space to gather.
