This home enjoys sweeping views of Draper Lake, one of the area’s rare coastal dune lakes. Set within a wooded neighborhood that preserves mature trees and natural features, the architecture draws inspiration from the Adirondacks, expressed through deep porches and true cedar siding with rich thickness and profile that create strong shadow lines across the exterior. A gracious front porch with wood brackets and gas lanterns, along with a second-story balcony above, overlooks an infinity-edge pool that visually extends toward the lake. The unusually shaped homesite allowed the design team to incorporate a firepit within an otherwise challenging extension of the property, turning it into a meaningful outdoor destination.
Inside, the living, dining, and kitchen spaces are oriented toward the view, framed by paired French doors with transoms above. The kitchen is filled with natural light and features a farmhouse sink, custom zinc range hood, built-in appliances, and a tucked-away butler’s pantry. Subtle level changes within the home reflect the site’s natural slope, reinforcing the connection to the landscape. The overall aesthetic is cozy yet contemporary. The primary suite opens to the balcony and lake beyond, while guest suites are thoughtfully placed beneath the required low rooflines, including a bunk room for additional guests and a private upstairs living room for family use. A detached carriage house at the rear includes a garage below with a compact apartment above, completing the property.
