LA GARZA COURT
his home faces the Turtle Bale pedestrian path in Alys Beach and draws inspiration from classic Cape Dutch architecture. A sculptural parapet design defines the exterior, while the offset path allows for a dramatic corner entry with a curved opening and a niche sized precisely for a Bevolo gas lantern.T
A two-story bay anchors the front elevation and becomes a balcony at the third floor, adding depth and visual interest.
Inside, the main living spaces flow effortlessly to the courtyard through large lift-and-slide doors. The kitchen and living room are unified by reclaimed antique beams, while a dining room sits just off the living space with a curved ceiling, built-in banquette, and a custom antique china cabinet. The fireplace pairs softly curved sides with an antique wood mantel, and custom leather cabinetry discreetly conceals media components. The courtyard, designed by Chad Horton, blends greenery, hardscape, and inviting seating for everyday outdoor living. Upstairs, the primary suite features a four-poster bed and a stained wood herringbone ceiling, with a sleek, functional bath.
A bunk room accommodates guests, while a moody tower room offers a relaxed retreat. The fourth-floor terrace—tucked behind the parapet wall—features custom cast stone railings, shaded lounge seating, and expansive Gulf views, making it the crowning element of the home.
